Editorial policy
Eastern Living Journal aims to make careful, readable work about eastern places and the ways people live in them. We explain our approach, distinguish fact from interpretation and welcome corrections.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against suitable information before publication and take care not to flatten regional differences into one account. When a subject is disputed or its context matters, we explain what is known and what remains uncertain. Descriptive interpretation is presented as interpretation, not as established fact.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for reader interest and relevance to the publication's subject. A partner or commercial relationship does not determine our conclusions, and we do not promise favourable coverage in exchange for support.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us through the Contact page with the article title, the detail in question and any helpful context. We review correction requests and update material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Sponsored work, paid placements and other partner material are identified clearly wherever they appear. Their relationship to a partner is not presented as independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, the illustration is labelled so readers can tell it is not a documentary photograph.
